Dr. Edward J. Wilson: Anatomy Teacher and Author of The Yoga of Abraham.
Edward J. Wilson, BA, MD is a UCLA Kennamer fellow in Internal Medicine, who received his medical training from USC and McGill University. Currently active as a practicing physician in the acute care setting of Los Angeles, he is also Dean of Integrative Medicine at Beurin University, which focuses students on becoming ‘a living bridge between ancient wisdom and our newest understanding of the mind, body and spirit.’ For twenty years, he trained in the art of meditation and kabalistic mysticism under expert guidance, and is now an accomplished teacher in the ancient mystical tradition called the Yoga of Abraham. It is a comprehensive system of well-being based on ancient kabalistic wisdom, which provides a time-tested foundation for increased awareness in the realms of body, mind and soul. Through meditation and a simple revitalizing physical practice, students are taught how their body works from a physiologic and genetic perspective and how it relates to an ancient spiritual framework which delivers, in its application, increased awareness, well-being and joy to its disciples.
Wendy Obstler: Lead Teacher Trainer
Wendy Obstler, is a Los Angeles based Certified Yoga Therapist and Founder of Divine Spark Yoga, Wendy also specializes in Pre & Post Natal and is the lead teacher for and Ambassador of Strong Yoga®4Fertility. Since 2005, Wendy has worked with countless women struggling with fertility challenges and pregnancy loss, witnessing over and again the powerful benefits of yoga on fertility. Having used the practice of yoga therapy to heal her own severe low back injury, Wendy enjoys sharing the transformational qualities of yoga with other individuals in chronic pain, healing from injury, post-operative rehab and to build an awareness for injury prevention. Wendy is dedicated to the ideal that Yoga is accessible for every body type; at any stage in one's life; and any individual who is open to its infinite possibilities. Whether she is teaching Yoga Therapy, Pre-Natal, Fertility Yoga, Yoga for Beginners or good 'ole make-you-sweat yoga, Wendy's approach to teaching yoga makes it always accessible and suited to fit the individual's needs. Courtney Munch: Lead Teacher Trainer
Courtney received her training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC in 2001 where her teachers Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi inspired her to teach from her heart, have the curiosity of a student, and most importantly have fun. Courtney teaches a challenging but playful vinyasa class with an emphasis on alignment. Courtney believes in the words of her kung fu teacher Shi Yan Ming that in action meditation as "You stretch your body, you stretch your mind." Courtney is also an accomplished stunt woman, and loves to be part of the UnityOne teacher training team!
Lauren Maher: Lead Trainer and Yoga History Teacher (CYT, E-RYT 500)
Lauren has been teaching since 2001 in a variety of settings: hospitals, wellness centers, yoga studios, and through her own private practice. Lauren currently works as a yoga therapist for WeSpark Cancer Support Center and the Bella Vita Eating Disorder Clinic, and has previously worked with the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Hospital and Northridge Hospital. Lauren is trained in a variety of yoga styles – Restorative, Kundalini, and Hatha - and is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University’s two-year Yoga Therapy Rx program. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical psychology at Antioch University.Lauren’s classes are inclusive and open to all levels and abilities. She draws from her knowledge of various yoga styles to create a practice that is appropriate for the shifting, daily needs of her students. She takes a non-dogmatic approach to yoga and infuses her classes with a sense of humor and lightness. Lauren is thrilled to be part of the UnityOne teacher training team, and views the real benefits of yoga as what you take with you outside of the class in into the world.
Donna Dunmire: Meditation Teacher
Donna Dunmire is a meditation coach, yoga teacher, and stretch specialist. She is also the creator of the Daprana Method (trademarked), a breath-focused, performance enhancement method for athletes and dancers. Donna believes that anyone can learn to meditate, but that exploration is key to uncovering the discipline of meditation that works best for each individual’s physical, emotional, and mental needs. My goal as a meditation teacher is to guide my students to the realization that meditation is not all about trying to get to some peaceful place outside themselves, but instead, to find peace within themselves.”
